Creating An Antique Brass Finish:

  You can give your metal gazebo a make-over with an antique brass finish, creating a different old world aura of elegance and charm.    The  antique brass finish can be applied to the iron and steel to give it a beautiful look.  If your metal gazebo has a canopy which is beginning to get the weathered look, you may like to replace it with one that matches the new antique finish.

 Clean the metal gazebo properly with Surclean-400 Metal Conditioner and then rinse thoroughly with water and dry.  Antique Bronze solution can be purchased from art and craft stores.  You can dip the article in the solution for 30-40 seconds or paint it on with a brush. To get a textured effect you can apply steel wool over parts of the item. Rinse and dry again.  Then dip into a Golden Steel-5 for 30 - 40 seconds.  Let the article dry throughly for 2-3 hours. If you want to lighten the colour in parts, just dab off areas with a damp cloth. When thouroughly dry and clean spray evenly with a semi gloss lacquer.  Create beautiful effects with these techniques and turn an old wrought iron or steel gazebo into a classical piece by giving it an antique brass finish.
